Challenging but Satisfying Experience
This was my first experience with any lego light kits. A kit for a set this large was a bit of a headfirst dive, but I am very happy with how it turned out.
The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, albeit there are some nerve wracking steps where you're putting pressure on the back of the set to create an opening in the front. Having to manhandle the entire set for the constant rotations was a bit unwieldly. I also found the tiny adhesive pads hard to separate and place without nearly using up all their stickiness first. Despite the challenges I was very impressed with the engineering to implement the lights while making the wiring as inconspicuous as possible.
At the end I was very satisfied with the experience and the final product. There's a good balance of volume of light where it can still be appreciated in a lit room, but it can also really add some ambiance to a smaller, dark room. I do wish there was a little more light on the lower right corner in front of Wayne Manor, it's the only noticeably unilluminated spot. Maybe that was intentional to give the effect of it being on the outskirts of Gotham...
One final note I want to make is that I learned the hard way that these light cables are very, very delicate. Halfway through I accidently snapped the included usb power cable (I will admit this was entirely my fault, I went to lift the set up while it was still plugged into my outlet). I imagine this is less likely to happen with the new…
