Fantastic
This light kit was really fantastic with some pros and cons that are worth sharing.
On the pro side, it looks amazing. It also has a switch inside so that the upper stages don't light up until they are separated, which is very neat.
On the cons side...
* The build itself was fairly challenging as their instructions don't have a follow-along video or many words. I would prefer a video and more text. My tip is, anywhere it says to wrap cables around each other, take the time and actually braid them, it's really necessary and no alternative will do.
* Once the build is complete, it affects the stability of the whole craft when standing on the bottom boosters, as they're now all wobbly due to the extra thickness of the wire. One of my boosters snapped off with the LED the first time I stood it up, but thankfully it came with a spare LED and I was able to swap it out. But swapping it out is difficult because of the way they jam a rod and wire through each booster, and it was extremely difficult. I pray I never have to do that again!
I think the final thing I'd state is that I hadn't settled on how I'd display this piece before buying. If you're going to have it horizontal, like my video shows, then this set is absolutely worth it. If you're standing it up and putting it in an IKEA cabinet with cotton smoke/other lights, it's not worth it, because these lights won't be visible (and in fact mine are no longer plugged in for that reason).
It's still a great set and I'm glad…
